1 month birthday

It was actually a couple of days ago, but Alexa had her one month birthday. She is starting to do a little better with her feedings. Today she took 14 ccs - which was her best so far. Alexa had a nurse, Tara, that remembered Ansel and the Sneddons very clearly. She was asking about how he and Kerri were doing when another nurse said, "Did you say Ansel"? Most all of the nurses knew them and want to know how they're doing.

Grandma and Grandpa Petersen came to visit today and Grandpa got to hold Alexa for quite a while. He tried to play it off like it was no big deal, but I think he really liked it. Alexa must have too, because she slept the whole time. She only opens her eyes when she's being fed, or having her diaper changed.

Happy one month Alexa! That's a very exciting mark to pass. Best wishes that the feedings continue to get better each day!!! Good job with the 14cc!

Ansel actually started out really good with feedings, but it was while he was also on the decadron (steroids to help his lungs). As soon as his medication for that ended though.. he really seemed to slow down a lot and wasn't near as good of an eater! I guess it's just a lot of work for such a little one! (Then he didn't seem to have much reflux issues until the day before he went home!) Definitely some frustrations at times!

Yeah, we remember Tara! (and all the others too!) We had Tara a lot right before Ansel went home (the first time) Tell them all hi for us! Have you met Deidra too? She's a good friend of mine still. The staff there is so wonderful.

Well, we're glad things are going well.. Alexa's so beautiful!! Oh, and I like your haircut Melissa.. I saw it at church but I didn't get a chance to tell you!

You continue to be in our prayers. We appreciate the pictures and updates about Alexa. She is precious and tiny and we're too far away to come visit so it is nice to be able to "visit" via the web.
God bless you all!
Love,
Aunt Arleen

I haven't met Deidra yet, but we've had Joy, Carrie, Cassie, Candy, Ginny, Betsy, Janelle, Jeanne, Susie, Miranda, Tara, Sara, Sarah, Rachel, Dana, Brian, Kelly, Lisa, Tina, Harla, Molly, and I'm sure many others I can't remember at the moment. We've really liked all of them so far.

Aunt Arleen -
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. We received your package and note and it was very much appreciated. She can't wear the booties yet because she has an oxygen monitor on her foot, but hopefully they will still fit when she comes home.
